Recently I had been on a trip to Coral islands with my husband, my sister and her husband. From Bangkok, we hired a cab that took us to the ever so appealing and enthusiastic city of Pattaya. From there on, we took a ferry (a means of water transport that has a capacity to carry hundreds of passengers, depending on it’s size. The one we took could accommodate nearly 200-250 people.) that dropped us to the Coral Islands in around thirty five – forty minutes. It was a calm, peaceful and soothing ride. You must be wondering why have i called it as ‘peppy music of sea waves’ when it was a calm ride? Then, my dear friends, the adventure has just begun. While experiencing it, even we weren’t expecting such an experience.

Once we reached there, according to our plan, we made bookings for the famous water-sports (adventure sports activities) for which we had come. The next course of action we took was to keep the baggage into the lockers, change and get ready and be prepared (both physically and mentally) for the fun that lied ahead. After completing all the formalities, we arrived at the shore along with our coach who showed us the boat in which we were to go for our first activity centre i.e. the boat paragliding base.

The boat that took us to the base was a ‘speed boat’ with a man in mid-twenties driving at full speed crashing against the sea waves from the opposite direction and letting us experience the thrill of being amidst the sea. Finally we reached at the base. The crew members helped us wear the life jackets and instructed as to what we had to do and what was really going to happen. One by one we went for our rides, which was truly a amazingly amazing lifetime experience. Once we all completed our rides, we went back to the shore through the same speed boat & at the same speed (or probably even more). Honestly, the ride on the boat was more scary and deadly than the activity we had actually paid for, we had come here for. Hence, I say, ‘peppy music of sea waves’.

We experienced the same thrashing and crashing of the boat and the waves again while on the way to our second activity. This time we all were a bit relaxed (not really) but probably because we were better prepared unlike the first time when we had just the ferry experience and moreover our excitement levels surpassed the fear we felt since it was the ‘underwater sea-walk’ that we were to do next.

On reaching yet another base from wherein they initiate the underwater walk we were again given the life jackets and this time more instructions and cautionary guidelines, since it was riskier. The coach guided us some of the signs of the sign language they use underwater. As one cannot hear or speak underneath sings were a better option or say the only option to let them know if we needed any help. It difficult to accommodate underwater, more so for the non-swimmers like us. Finally, it was our turn and we all went down one after the other along with our guides who showed us the coral reefs, rocks and beautiful fishes beneath. They gave us the food that we could feed the fishes and also it helped us to have a closer view of the sea-life as the fragrance of the food attracted them. After staying there for around half-an-hour we made our way back with our guides. It was indeed a fantastically fantastico feeling being able to complete it successfully and being a witness to such a wonderful world down there. The same boat dropped us back to the shore from where we took another speed boat that took us to Pattaya, where our cab was waiting for us. Yes, we took a speed boat instead of a ferry. This only shows how much we loved the ‘peppy music’ of the waves and how fantastic was the experience throughout our navigation. And, my writing of this post only shows, how deep impact has this left on me.

P.S.  – It was my husband’s idea to connect the five words “Fantastico, Imapct, Peppy, Music and Navigation’ through this travel experience. I have just given words to this. I was thinking what and how to write connecting these words, just when he popped in and said, ‘Dear, why don’t you try your hands on the trip we just had, it probably would cover all the 5 words together’ and after writing this I am like ‘This post is the impact of having a fantastico husband who loves peppy music and navigating from one place to another’. Dear Hubby, I wish you notice that I have used all the 5 words to describe you in a line.

My Evergreen Playlist..!!

Undoubtedly, the above saying stands true for all of us. One would rarely find someone who doesn’t (or say cannot) connect to the above quote. The prompt asks a question “Is music the window to your freshness?”. I suppose, by now I am clear as regards the answer to this question. Yes, of course the answer is in affirmative.

Before I list down the magical musical playlist, have a look at ‘Allu Arjun and Anushka Manchanda in a fresh music video with sensational dance moves and magical vocals.’

Here’s a part of my evergreen playlist that cheers up my mood instantly anytime and every time along with the reasons or memories attached to the song to bring a clarity why and how they lend me ‘freshness’.

1. Maa-Meriii Maa-Pyaari Maa-Mumma – Just listen to this song, if you haven’t and make your mom listen to it, rest I don’t need to speak much, the bond you share with your mom (maa) will itself speak louder than any words would ever do.

2. Aas paas h khuda – This song from a bollywood movie ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ is in itself a power booster. When you feel drained out or taken aback, it is a wonderful song to motivate yourself and keep moving. At least, it does this to me. Vishal-Shekhar’s lyrics and the voice of the man himself, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, what else does a song require to touch one’s heart?

3. Hamdard – The magically magical voice of Arijit Singh & Mithoon is enough to keep you connected to the song. The song talks of the love so deep that if you are with me, even the pain is beautiful, as long as you smile, I’ll fight the world so deep where ones desires are another’s wishes, where it’s like two souls dwelling in one’ Just listen and feel it yourself –

4. Yaaro Dosti –  The ‘Forever Friendship’ song, that’s how I remember, re-live and rejoice this song. It reminds me of my school and college days and my lovely gang of friends. Howsoever far we might be or the touch might loose but you all will always form an undetachable part of my life.

5. Tum Mile – They say, “when you are happy, you listen to the music, but when you are sad, you understand the lyrics”. My addition to that, ‘when you are in love, you can feel the lyrics’. Don’t believe me, just lend a patient ear to this song and feel what happens when you meet your true love, your soul-mate.

6. Ambarsariyaa – This song from the movie, ‘Fukrey’ sung by ‘Sona Mohapatra’ has a special place in my life as this is one of those songs on which my bestie planned to dance in my wedding. We have infinite memories attached with it. Even a second of playing this song, reminds me of her.

7. Galla Goodiyaan – The most recent favourite and the most listened song these days, is this one. Just listen and dance to the tunes of this song, I bet you’ll get lost in the music.

8. Tum ho to gaata h dil – The song has some very respectable people associated with it,  lyrics by Javed Akhtar (undoubtedly, it has to be an awesome, more than awesome composition), sung by his son Farhan Akhtar and music by Shankar-Ehsan-Loy. Does it need any more description? Generally speaking, no, but talking personally I want to add to the list my husband’s name as this is a common favourite. And, to be very honest, my reason to love this song is ‘him’.

9. Gone Gone Gone –  This wonderful composition by Phillip Phillips steals my heart, every time I hear to this song. This song creates a feeling that someone somewhere is living for you, living because of you and trust me this feeling has no other comparison. My favourite lines from this song are –

“You’re my back bone.
You’re my cornerstone.
You’re my crutch when my legs stop moving.
You’re my head start.
You’re my rugged heart.
You’re the pulse that I’ve always needed.”

December’ 2020

Aman and Akshay had planned a family holiday together since it had been a long time since they last met. They were known to be partners-in-crime, ‘chuddie-buddies’ and BFF’s. Neither did they claim it, nor was it so much in vogue to display the bond one shared in those times, unlike today where social media platforms know more of your bond than you yourself. Nevertheless, the people around knew and understood what they had in common.

Both the families were on the way to their holiday destination. Their kids were beginning to share a good bond and their fathers were re-living their old days. Past reminiscence have their own ways of imparting you happiness, giving you vibrant energy and leaving you refreshed.

“Let me take you a decade before in time, when we were in college”, said Aman to his childhood friend to which he instantly replied “I’m sure you are coming up next to the last fest that we had organised”. They both stole a glance, winked at each other and laughed out loud. It was surprisingly happy to know that they still understood what the other was to say next.

“Yes, the very same fest where we had invited your favourite singer Ms. Anushka Manchanda, only because you being the cultural secretary insisted”, teased Aman.

“And what about the Mr Allu Arjun? Who suggested his name? And we even had a deal brother, one of your choice and one of mine. How can you forget that, dude?

Listening to their husband’s conversation the wives smiled and said, friends never grow up. And the children were also amused to see the friendly side of their fathers. They thought only they had friends and they talk like this but now they realised friendship is ageless and always young. Both of them were indifferent to the world around and immersed in their own.

They furthered their conversation discussing the songs that she sung and Allu’s dancing moves to it’s tunes left the crowd mesmerised. They literally started singing some of their common favourites from college time that she sang listing from ‘Piya kesariyo’, ‘Behke’, ‘Dum maro dum’, ‘Ek main hu or ek tu’, and ‘Apna har din’. The last being their all time favourite and meaningful, they sang the entire song. Their kids joined. The songs energised them so much that they started to imitate the steps of Allu Arjun, the same way they used to do in their college and their wives had to remind them that they were in train. In one of his films, he was seen doing the Michael Jackson step and it subsequently became Aman’s favourite step. Their memories were as fresh as ever. They discussed the happening of the fest as if it had happened the day before.

‘Anushka and Allu’ made “Aman and Akshay’s trip’ said Aman’s wife to which her friend nodded.  Friendship with a tadka of ‘music’ and ‘dance’ is friendship lived and re-lived.

Write about the three most important songs in your life — what do they mean to you?

The three most important songs in my life….Ummm..seems difficult…not to write but to list the songs and that too just three is hell difficult for a music lover like me, mainly because of two reasons that I listen to music a lot and it generally depends on my mood which kind of song I listen to.. Sometimes it’s some romantic song, sometime inspirational, some are the dedications to my loved ones (which I generally listen to when I miss them or vice versa), or sometimes my playlist also includes the sad and heart-breaking songs, etc etc etc. So, be it any kind of music, I need Music.. 🙂

For me –

Songs & Music speaks what can’t be said in conversations.

Music is a medicine that relieves me of all the pain and also shares my happiness..!!

Daily Prompt – Machines, appliances, and gadgets sometimes feel like they have their own personalities — from quirky cars to dignified food processors. What’s the most “human” machine you own?

For Me, Its ‘My Cellphone’

The most ‘Human’ machine I own,

is undoubtedly, my cell phone, cell phone, cell phone.

It is there with me when there is no known,

& I can talk through it when with mob unknown,

It helps with messages & chats with the loved ones,

which no one else could do, none.

So it is ‘My very Dear Cell Phone’.

It helps me with my random clicks,

& makes my day with the editing of those pics.

It cheers my mood, when I’ve reasons to mourn,

It plays all my favourite songs,

& congratulate me on every game won,

Thank You ‘My Dear Cell Phone’

You are no less than a ‘Friend’,

who’s always by my side,

who has many of my secrets inside,

& as any good friend, you do confide.

You also keep a note,

of what all I wrote.

So, you are in all ways human,

& something that I proudly own

‘My Dear Cell Phone’

It’s MEE… :)
