Hunger

Posted: October 3, 2014 in Five Sentence Fiction

It was a severe drought this year in that part of the country.

People prayed for rains for the crops but there wasn’t even enough for them to drink.

The children & the elderly were in a condition terrible than the youth, owing to their already low strength and being more prone comparatively.

The entire periphery & the surroundings where human sight could reach was filled with the people displaying weakness, the violent stomach contractions, reduced immunity, dried off lips, begging hands and the mournful eyes filled with anger and frustration that arose out of helplessness.

And still we have some indifferent and irrational people who do not value food and waste it.

What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week I will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word.

The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction.

I used hunger two years ago and so many wonderful stories came from it, I wanted to use it again because there are so many new and crazy talented writers here!!

This week’s word: HUNGER
